Committees in both the House and the Senate on Tuesday afternoon separately approved legislation to prevent consumers' phone numbers from being automatically removed from the FTC's Do Not Call list after 5 years. CDT supports eliminating the current 5 year expiration for numbers on the list. Tuesday's action readies the legislation to be taken up by the full House and Senate. The House bill is H.R. 3541; the Senate bill is S. 2096.
