On November 16th, a one-day Internet campaign targeting the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) saw a tremendous outpouring of grassroots opposition. But the battle is far from over.
This Thursday, December 15th, the House Judiciary Committee will vote on the bill; it is crucial we get as many people as possible to contact their Representatives before the mark-up on Thursday.
SOPA and its Senate companion bill, the Protect IP Act, are backed by extensive lobbying muscle and have bipartisan support. In short, this is legislation that could actually pass.
If passed, these bills would cripple online innovation, chill online free expression, subvert the inner workings of Internet security, and compromise user privacy.
Do your part to help stop SOPA; call your Representative today. Click the "Join the Fight" button below to find out how.
