Yumi is a Master's candidate at Georgetown University's Communication, Culture, and Technology (CCT) program, where her focus is on the often-conflicting intersection between security and privacy of networked technologies. Yumi received a BA in Communications from UC San Diego. Upon graduating, she headed to Northern California to work as an animator trainer for PDI/Dreamworks on the films Antz and Shrek. Shortly thereafter, she worked as a Technical Project Manager for a now defunct dot-com in San Francisco, receiving a hefty education on the tech industry, and enjoying the perks of the boom era as an added bonus. Yumi was a competitive swimmer and fencer for many years, and now, an avid skier, traveler, salsa dancer, and wanna-be-polyglot. |
