    Wireless Location Information
The proliferation of mobile communications is leading to new services based on the ability of providers to determine, with increasing precision, the geographic location of the accessing device.

    Children
Privacy protection of children is covered by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

    Financial
If you want to gain an understanding of someone, merely ask to see their checkbook. The companies and organizations that they give money to will allow you to paint a very complete picture.

    Online Profiling
DoubleClick is a company that posts banner advertising on web pages. In June 1999 they purchased Abacus, a company that distributes catalogs through the mail. In January 2000 it was revelaed that Doubleclick was going to merge online information with offline information.

    Intel Processor Serial Number
In February 1999, Intel announced that a feature of the Pentium-III processor chip would be a Processor Serial Number. A serial number that can be transmitted, with or without the user's permission or knowledge, electronically over a network connection leaves many privacy and security holes.

    Personally Identifying Information
Services which provide "credit header" information, have been available for quite some time, however most consumers are unaware of their existence. Lexis-Nexis has the distinction of attracting a lot of attention in the summer of 1996 for releasing social security numbers along with other personally identifying information when they made their P-Trak product available on the Internet. Now there are multiple companies in the business of selling your Personally Identifying Information.
