Privacy Framework
To build consumer trust in health information technology (“health IT”), we need a comprehensive privacy and security framework that sets out clear parameters for access, use, and disclosure of personal health information for all entities engaged in e-health. Such a framework includes core privacy principles based on fair information practices, but also incorporates trusted network design characteristics and strong oversight and accountability.
