NY AG Brings Suit Against Adware Company - New York State Attorney General Elliot Spitzer filed a lawsuit today against Internet marketer Intermix, claiming the company distributed software that was installed on users' computers without sufficient notice or consent and that could not be easily removed. This is the first time that a state consumer protection body has sued a software company for engaging in this type of deceptive practice. April 28, 2005
