NY AG May Bring First State Spyware Case - In a filing with the SEC, California company Intermix announced that New York State Attorney General Elliot Spitzer has alleged that it "distributed downloads that were installed by users without sufficient notice or consent." If Spitzer does bring the case, it would be the first time that a state consumer protection body has sued a suspected spyware company. April 13, 2005
