CDT, Tech Groups Urge High Court to Protect Internet Innovation - CDT and leading technology groups have filed a brief in the US Supreme Court case against Grokster and other file-sharing companies, urging the Court to uphold the Sony Betamax standard which has been essential to the development of a democratic and open Internet. The brief, filed on behalf of neither party in the case, argues that technology companies should not be held liable for misuse of their offerings, but that copyright can be protected under existing standards of liability and infringement.
