Domain Name Group Moves Forward on Elections, New Domains - At its quarterly meeting in Yokohama July 15-17, the ICANN domain name management group moved forward with its global elections, set to take place this fall. The group passed resolutions affirming its commitment to public representation its board, and calling for proposals by October 1 for new top-level domains (to supplement the present .com, .org, and .edu).
