FTC Says Do-Not-Spam List Will Not Work - The Federal Trade Commission today announced that it does not believe that a national "Do-Not-Email" list for unsolicited commercial email modeled on the national "Do-Not-Call" list can help prevent spam. CDT comments to the FTC -- that such a list would be difficult if not impossible to enforce given the difficult locating spammers of any kind, difficulties in keeping the list current and the security concerns of the list -- were cited in the report.
