CDT Urges FCC to Protect Internet, Keep Broadcast Rules Narrow - To ensure that the development of new technologies is not discouraged and to protect the democratic and creative potential of the Internet, copyright protection regulations for broadcast digital TV must be narrowly focused on preventing indiscriminate redistribution of copyrighted content, CDT urged in comments filed at the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC is considering additions to its regulations requiring TVs and other devices to include features that limit the copying of digital broadcast TV programming. March 15, 2004
