Civil Liberties Group Applauds Intelligence Bill - The Center for Democracy & Technology applauded the action of two House Committees in approving the RESTORE Act (H.R. 3773), a bill that would provide judicial oversight of government surveillance undertaken in the name of national security. While urging further changes in the bill to ensure that a full, individualized court order is required when surveillance targeted at persons abroad infringes on the rights of Americans, CDT called the bill a significant improvement over current law.
