Surveillance Hearing an Important Step Forward - The Center for Democracy and Technology welcomed today's House Judiciary Committee hearing on warrantless surveillance and civil liberties. The hearing is widely seen as the first step in Congress to re-visit the legislation it adopted in early August to authorize warrantless surveillance of international communications, even when an American in the U.S. is a party to the communication.
