DHS Should Revise REAL ID Regulations - The Department of Homeland Security missed a critical opportunity to include meaningful privacy and security protections in its proposed regulations to implement the flawed REAL ID Act. In comments submitted to DHS this week, CDT acknowledged that the REAL ID Act itself was dangerously weak on privacy, but noted that DHS had the authority to build privacy protections into its proposed regulations and failed to do so.
