Why should I sign up?
First, by signing up for the activist list, those of you in the U.S. will Adopt Your Legislator. With your Zip Code, we can alert you when your Senators and Member of Congress are about to vote on public policy issues affecting civil liberties online. Second, we will send you our Policy Posts - regular e-mail news publications (roughly 2-4 per month), designed to deliver up-to-date information in a simple format, with links to more in-depth analysis. Third, CDT will send you periodic Action Alerts (usually no more than one per month). These Actions will alert you and provide background on pressing issues affecting your rights online and tell you how to contact groups like ICANN, the Federal Communications Commission, private corporations, or the Congress, to make your views known. We will use these alerts to keep you up to date and tell you how to weigh in on Internet governance issues and ICANN in particular.
